Matthew Montgomery Barkley (born September 8, 1990) is an American former professional football quarterback. He played college football for the USC Trojans, setting the Pac-12 Conference season record for touchdown passes as a junior. Due to suffering a shoulder injury as a senior, Barkley was not selected until the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He has been a member of 11 different NFL teams, mostly as a backup. Barkley had his most notable stint with the Chicago Bears in 2016 where he served as the team's starter.
