Marie Battiste

Marie Ann Battiste OC (born September 30, 1949) is an author and educator working as a professor in Canada at the University of Saskatchewan in the Department of Educational Foundations. She is known as an intellectual leader who has contributed to the protection of indigenous knowledges and languages and to the balancing of diverse knowledge systems, and as an advocate for decolonising .
