It is one of two major hits written by the duo, the other being the 1984 song "Almost Paradise" by Mike Reno and Ann Wilson. "Make Me Lose Control" reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988, Carmen's final top 40 hit on the pop charts.
The song was featured on the official soundtrack of the 2024 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Deadpool & Wolverine.
