Maison d'éducation de la Légion d'honneur
The maisons d'éducation de la Légion d'honneur (French pronunciation: [mɛzɔ̃ dedykasjɔ̃ də la leʒjɔ̃ dɔnœʁ], lit. 'Legion of Honour education houses') are French secondary schools established by Napoleon and intended for the education of girls whose father, grandfather, or great-grandfather had been awarded the Legion of Honour. Admission is still granted by hereditary right.
