Mahopac (/ˈmeɪəˌpæk/ or /ˌməˈhoʊpæk/) is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in the town of Carmel in Putnam County, New York, United States. Also known as Lake Mahopac, the exurb is a part of the New York City metropolitan area. On U.S. Route 6 at the county's southern border, connects with Westchester County. As of the 2020 census, the population was 8,933.
