Long distance observations
Long-distance observation is any visual observation, for sightseeing or photography, that targets any object visible from a great distance, with the possibility of seeing them closely. Such observations exclude the following:
- Aircraft spotting, as it refers mostly to aircraft observed in the vicinity of the airport only.
- Satellite watching, which is the subject of astrophotography.
- Astronomical objects, since they are always far away from the observer. They are usually the subject of observational astronomy and astrophotography.
