List of storms named Washi
The name Washi has been used to name two tropical cyclone in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean. The name was contributed by Japan and refers to the constellation Aquila, the eagle, in Japanese.
- Tropical Storm Washi (2005) (T0508, 08W) – impacted South China
- Severe Tropical Storm Washi (2011) (T1121, 27W, Sendong) – impacted southern Philippines and killed more than 1,200 people
The name Washi was retired after the 2011 Pacific typhoon season and was replaced with Hato, which refers to the constellation Columba, the dove, in Japanese. The name was first (and only) used in 2017.
- Typhoon Hato (2017) (T1713, 15W, Isang) – one of the strongest typhoons to affect Hong Kong and Macau in 50 years
The name Hato was retired after the 2017 Pacific typhoon season and was replaced with Yamaneko, which refers to the constellation Lynx, the lynx, in Japanese. The name was first used in 2022.
