Kurunta (king)
Kurunta (Hittite: ð’€ð’†—) was a Hittite prince, a younger son of the early 13th century BC Hittite great king Muwatalli II, brother of MurÅ¡ili III, nephew of ḪattuÅ¡ili III, and cousin of Tudḫaliya IV. Kurunta was made king of the Land of Tarḫuntašša by his uncle ḪattuÅ¡ili III. It has been suggested that he may have captured the Hittite capital for a very short time during the reign of the Hittite king Tudḫaliya IV and declared himself a great king.
