Kjesäter

59°02′43″N 15°54′52″E / 59.045146°N 15.914469°E / 59.045146; 15.914469 Kjesäter is a manor in the municipality of Vingåker in the county of Södermanland in Sweden. The manor and its outbuildings were constructed in 1865 based on designs by the architect Johan Fredrik Åbom for Gustaf Trolle Bonde. The castle’s two wings date from the eighteenth century. During World War II, it operated as a refugee camp and transit center for refugees fleeing Nazi persecution in Norway. From 1960 until 2011 served as a folk high school. Kjesäter has been privately owned since 1981, and the owners run agricultural and forestry operations, property management, conference activities, energy production and hunting.
