Lieutenant-General Sir John Moore, KB (13 November 1761 – 16 January 1809) was a British Army officer and Whig politician who represented Lanark Burghs in the House of Commons of Great Britain from 1784 to 1790. He is known for his military training reforms and for his death at the Battle of Corunna, in which he fought a French army under Marshal Jean-de-Dieu Soult during the Peninsular War.
