James Harlan (June 22, 1800 – February 18, 1863) was an American attorney and politician who was a U.S. Representative from Kentucky from 1835 to 1839. He also served as U.S. Attorney for Kentucky and, prior to that, as Kentucky Secretary of State and Attorney General, the first to be elected to the latter office statewide.
