James Edwin "Trey" Trainor III is an American Republican lawyer and government official. He is a former member of the Federal Election Commission. He was nominated by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the Republican-controlled Senate. He served as chair of the commission in 2020. He is a candidate for the 2026 election in Texas's 21st congressional district.
