Itapecerica (Portuguese pronunciation: [itapeˈsɛɾikɐ], [itapeˈsɛɾika]) is a municipality located in the center of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The population is 21,761 (2020 est.) in an area of 1,041 km2 (402 sq mi). The city belongs to the meso-region of Oeste de Minas and to the micro-region of Formiga. It was founded in 1789.
