Intervention is an American documentary television series that premiered on A&E on March 6, 2005. The series profiles one or two people in each episode who are dependent on or addicted to drugs or alcohol, following their daily lives in the period leading up to a surprise intervention arranged by family and friends. At the intervention, loved ones present an ultimatum: enter an inpatient drug rehabilitation program immediately or risk the loss of contact, financial support, or other privileges. The program sometimes includes follow-up segments that document participants’ progress in recovery in later episodes or online shorts. The series has run for multiple seasons; its twenty-fifth season premiered on April 22, 2024.
