History of the Jews in Chernivtsi

The history of the Jews in Chernivtsi (previously known as Czernowitz) stretches from the 15th century CE to the present, and forms part of the history of the Jews in Romania and Ukraine. It was the largest Jewish community in Bukovina, in what is now Romania and Ukraine.
