High Roding is a village in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. The village is included in the eight hamlets and villages called The Rodings. High Roding is 9 miles (14 km) north-west from the county town of Chelmsford. The civil parish covering the village and surrounding rural areas is called High Roothing, using an old variant form of the name. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 578.
