Haiku in English

A haiku in English, or English-language Haiku (ELH), is an English-language poem written in a form or style inspired by Japanese haiku. Emerging in the early 20th century, English haiku retains many characteristics of its Japanese predecessor—typically focusing on nature, seasonal changes, and imagistic language—while evolving to suit the rhythms and structures of English languages and cultures outside of Japan.
