Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, also known as Major Hafiz, is a Bangladeshi politician currently serving as the speaker of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad since March 2026. He was the national standing committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and a retired Bangladesh Army major, and a six-term Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Bhola-3 constituency. He also served as the minister of Commerce in the Third Khaleda ministry and later served as the minister of Liberation War Affairs in the Tarique ministry. He fought in the Bangladesh War of Independence and was awarded Bir Bikrom, the country's third highest gallantry award. He is also a retired footballer and one of the few from East Pakistan to have represented the Pakistan national football team. In recognition of his contribution to the sport, he was awarded the FIFA Order of Merit, the highest honour awarded by FIFA, in 2004.
