HMS Exmouth was a Royal Navy anti-submarine warfare frigate of the Blackwood or Type 14 class. She was launched in 1955 and commissioned in 1957.
In 1966 she returned to the docks for a refit which replaced the original steam boilers and turbine propulsion system with an experimental system powered entirely by gas turbines. She returned to duty in 1968, as the first UK ship powered entirely by gas turbine.
