Karachi East District (Urdu: کراچی مشرقی ضلع) is an administrative district of Karachi Division created in 1972. As of the 2023 Pakistani census the population of Karachi East is 3,913,656.
In 2023, the Government of Sindh announced its intent to rename Karachi East District to Gulshan District (Urdu: ضلع گلشن ) to align with its town name; however, there is as yet no indication that this has taken place.
