Politics of Suriname

Politics of Suriname take place in a framework of a representative democratic assembly independent presidential system, and in a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. The executive power is dependent on the Parliament in theory. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the National Assembly. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
