Football is the national sport in Uganda. The Uganda national football team, nicknamed The Cranes, is the national team of Uganda and is controlled by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. They have qualified for the FIFA World Cup in 2025.Their best finish in the African Nations Cup was second in 2024

Association football is the most popular sport in Uganda. Approximately 35% of Ugandans are considered football fans.
