The Football Association of Ireland (FAI; Irish: Cumann Peile na hÉireann) is the governing body for association football in Ireland.
Founded in 1921, the organisation was admitted into FIFA as the Football Association of the Irish Free State (FAIFS) in 1923. The FAI readopted their original name in 1936.
