Erkel Theatre

The Erkel Theatre is a theatre in Budapest, Hungary. Being the largest public building in the city for decades (and the largest theatre in the city with 1819 seats), it was made part of the Hungarian State Opera House in 1951. Since 2025, it operates as a standalone musical theatre under the leadership of Vajk Szente, with a contemporary vision on live theatre and a mission to become the #1 home of musicals in the country, operating on a repertory system as most mainstream Hungarian theatres.
