Edward Henry Farhi (born June 26, 1952) is an American physicist. He is currently a principal scientist at Google working on quantum computation. Until 2018, he was the Cecil and Ida Green Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From 2004 to 2016, he was the director of the Center for Theoretical Physics at MIT. He worked on particle physics and general relativity before moving to quantum computing.
