ESPN International is a family of sportscasting and production networks around the world. It was begun in 1983, is operated by ESPN Inc., which is jointly owned by The Walt Disney Company (which holds 72% via indirect subsidiary ABC Inc.), Hearst Communications (which holds 18%), and the National Football League (which holds 10%).
