Duc de Plaisance

The French title of duc de Plaisance (English: Duke of Piacenza, not to be confused with the title of Duke of Parma and Piacenza) was created on 24 April 1808 by Napoleon I for Charles-François Lebrun, Arch-Treasurer of the Empire and former Consul. In 1872 it became a title of the ancient House of Maillé, one of the oldest families of the French nobility. The title became extinct in 1926, upon the death of the sixth duke.
