Destiny (German: Der müde Tod: ein deutsches Volkslied in sechs Versen, lit. 'The Weary Death: A German Folksong in Six Verses') is a 1921 silent German Expressionist fantasy romance film directed by Fritz Lang and inspired by the Indian folktale of Savitri. The plot follows a woman desperate to reunite with her dead lover. It is also an anthology film that follows three other tragic romances set in the Middle East, in Venice, and in China.
