David Edward Goldberg (born September 26, 1953) is an American engineer, educator, and author, known for his contributions to genetic algorithms, engineering education, and the philosophy of engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and has held faculty positions at the University of Michigan, University of Alabama, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and served as a visiting professor at the National University of Singapore.
