David Jeffrey Bednar (born October 10, 1994), nicknamed "the Bednar Bandit" and El Oso (Spanish for 'the Bear'), is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the San Diego Padres and Pittsburgh Pirates. The Padres selected Bednar in the 35th round of the 2016 MLB draft.
