Dandora

Dandora is a neighbourhood in Kenya's capital and largest city, Nairobi. It is part of the Embakasi division. Dandora was established in 1977, with partial financing from the World Bank to provide a higher standard of housing. It is famous as a slum, with poor sanitation and water access. Many of the buildings are temporary, and public service coverage is minimal. The location is, in part, well known for being the site of the main municipal solid waste dump for Nairobi, which has significant negative health effects on its population.

Surrounding neighbourhoods include slums such as Kariobangi, Baba Dogo, Gitare Marigo, Kayole, Mathare, and Korogocho.
