Damyan Yovanov Gruev (Bulgarian: Дамян Йованов Груев, Macedonian: Дамјан Јованов Груев, romanized: Damjan Jovanov Gruev, Serbian: Дамјан Јованов Грујић; January 19, 1871 – December 23, 1906) was а Macedonian Bulgarian teacher, revolutionary and leader of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization (IMRO) in the Ottoman regions of Macedonia and Thrace. He was one of the six founders of IMRO. Gruev is seen as a national hero in Bulgaria and North Macedonia but his ethnicity is disputed between both countries.
