Damião de Góis (Portuguese: [dɐmiˈɐ̃w ˈɣɔjʃ]; February 2, 1502 – January 30, 1574) was a Portuguese diplomat, historian, musician, and humanist philosopher. A friend and student of Erasmus, Góis is considered one of the most influential intellectuals of the Portuguese Renaissance.
