DaNa L. Carlis (/ˈdən ˈkɑːrlɪs/ də-NAY KAR-lis) is an American meteorologist and director of the NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) in Norman, Oklahoma. He is the first African American to serve as the head of a NOAA research laboratory.
