Commune-level town (Vietnamese: thị trấn), also known as township, was a type of third tier subdivision of Vietnam, along with ward and commune have equal status. By virtue of Decree No. 42/2009/ND-CP, townships are officially classified into Class-2, Class-3, Class-4 or Class-5. On 1 July 2025, as a result of a constitutional amendment and related legislation, all Commune-level towns ceased to exist.
The townships can only subordinate to district as the Third Tier unit.
