Cinema of Senegal

The cinema of Senegal (French: Cinéma du Sénégal) is a relatively small film industry which experienced its prime from the 1960s through to the early 1980s, before undergoing a stark decline since the late 1990s until its gradual revival from the 2010s onwards. Senegal is one of the capitals of African cinema and an important places of African film production after its independence from France in 1960.
