China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. (CMI) is a state-owned enterprise specialising in marine equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding, and offshore engineering. It operates as the equipment manufacturing arm of China Merchants Group (CMG), a central state-owned conglomerate under the direct supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council. Headquartered in Hong Kong, CMI was formerly known as China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. before rebranding under its current name in December 2025.
The group has grown into one of China's leading state-owned shipbuilding conglomerates, alongside China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), which absorbed China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) in 2025
