Child benefit

Child benefit or children's allowance is a payment which is distributed to the parents or guardians of children, teenagers and in some cases, young adults. Countries operate different versions of the benefit. Child benefit can be means-tested and depend on the number of children. The cost of raising a child including opportunity costs increases with income and depends on the number of children.
