Child's Play is a 1972 American psychological drama-mystery film directed by Sidney Lumet, and starring James Mason, Robert Preston and Beau Bridges. It is based on 1970 play by Robert Marasco.
The film was released by Paramount Pictures on December 12, 1972. Mason's performance was nominated for a New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor.
