Chhatar Singh Deo
HH Maharaja Chhatar Singh Deo Bahadur (8 October 1843 – 16 June 1896) was a ruler of Samthar State from 3 February 1865 till his death on 16 June 1896. His son Bir Singh Judeo succeeded the throne on his death.
Belonging to the Khatana Dynasty of Samthar, Maharaja Chhatar Singh Deo Bhadur was a direct descendant of Rajdhar Nune Shah Gurjar, Diwan of Datia and the son of, Shrimant Maharaja Hindupat Singh Khatana, who stood against British rule, fighting the Battle of Lohagarh alongside Rani Lakshmi Bai. A steadfast ally of the Queen, he extended his full support to her cause and even provided his own horses for her army-an enduring symbol of courage, sacrifice, and resistance. Following his legacy, the present head of the Khatana Royal Family of Samthar is his descendant, Shrimant Maharaja Samarjeet Singh Khatana Judeo.
