Chasseur (/ʃæˈsɜːr/ shass-UR, French: [ʃasœʁ] ⓘ), a French term for "hunter", is the designation given to certain regiments of French and Belgian light infantry (chasseurs à pied) or light cavalry (chasseurs à cheval) to denote troops trained for rapid action.
