Cawthron Institute

The Cawthron Institute is a research institution in Nelson, New Zealand focused on freshwater and marine research. It was founded in 1919 by Thomas Cawthron and is New Zealand's largest independent science organisation. The institute employs approximately 300 scientists, laboratory technicians, researchers, and specialist staff from 26 countries.
