Butera (Sicilian: Vutera) is an Italian town and commune in the province of Caltanissetta, in the southern part of the island of Sicily. It is bounded by the communes of Gela, Licata, Mazzarino, Ravanusa and Riesi. It is located 49 km (30 mi) from Caltanissetta, the province's capital, and has a population of 4,081.
