Blaise Diagne (French pronunciation: [blɛz djaɲ]; 13 October 1872 – 11 May 1934) was a French Senegalese politician who was a member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1914 to 1934, representing the Four Communes of French Senegal. He was the first person of full West African descent to be elected to the Chamber of Deputies and the first to hold a position in the French government.
