The Belvidere Assembly Plant (BVAP), a currently idled automobile production facility, will reopen in 2027 to build both the Jeep Cherokee (KL) and Jeep Compass. Stellantis North America, who own and operate the plant, announced in October 2025 that they are investing $600 million in restarting production at the facility. The factory opened in 1965 in Belvidere, Illinois, United States, and last assembled the Jeep Cherokee in 2023.
