The Battle of Turnu was a military conflict in 1462 between Vlad III, who sought to prevent the crossing of the Danube, and Mehmed II and his army. What began as an amphibious crossing operation evolved into a full-scale invasion. After being defeated, Vlad left his country exposed to Mehmed II's invasion.
