Bandra (film)

Bandra is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language masala film directed by Arun Gopy, written by Udaykrishna, and produced by Vinayaka Ajith. The film stars Dileep and Tamannaah Bhatia (in her Malayalam debut), alongside Dino Morea, Mamta Mohandas, Kalabhavan Shajohn, R. Sarathkumar, Lena, Easwari Rao, K. B. Ganesh Kumar, Siddique, and VTV Ganesh. The film's original score was composed by Sam C. S., while the cinematography and editing were handled by Shaji Kumar and Vivek Harshan, respectively. In the film, Sakshi, a young filmmaker, is searching for a powerful story for her first movie. She becomes curious about an old apartment in Bandra where Tara Janaki, a famous Hibdi film actress from the 1990s, was said to have committed suicide at the peak of her career. As Sakshi investigates, she meets a mysterious old man named Mirchi, who seems connected to Tara’s past. Through her research, the film shifts to the past, revealing the real story behind Tara’s life and death.

Bandra was released in theatres on 10 November 2023 during the Diwali holiday. The film received negative reviews from critics and underperformed at the box office.
