Bamberg County is a county located in the southwestern portion of U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 13,311, making the rural county the fourth-least populous of any in South Carolina. Its county seat is Bamberg. Voorhees University (formerly Voorhees College), a historically black university, was established here in the late nineteenth century. It is affiliated with the Episcopal Church.
