Aydah (also known as Aida) is an Egyptian musical romance film starring Umm Kulthum, and directed by Ahmed Badrakhan. It is written by Abdel Wareth Asr, Fathy Nashaty and Abbas Younis. The film is Umm Kulthum's fourth film. The story of the film is inspired by Giuseppe Verdi's famous opera Aida, adapted into an Egyptian cinematic context. Aydah is produced and released on February 11, 1942, by El Sharq Films.
