Awarapan (transl. Vagrancy) is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language crime action film directed by Mohit Suri, written by Shagufta Rafique, and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. An uncredited remake of the South Korean film A Bittersweet Life, it stars Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana. In the film, gangster Shivam Pandit (Hashmi) is ordered by his boss Bharat Malik (Rana) to watch over Reema (Sharma), Malik's secret Pakistani mistress.
Awarapan was theatrically released on 29 June 2007. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the film emerged as a commercial failure, but later gained cult status, eventually being regarded as one of Hashmi and Suri's best works.
